Meet Dr. Carla D. Webb
Diplomate, American Board of Endodontics
Dr. Webb is a native of McComb, MS and a graduate of North Pike High School. She received her Bachelor's degree from Millsaps College in Jackson where she was on the varsity basketball team, a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority, and a Dean's List graduate. After completing dental school at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry where she graduated with honors, Carla received her Endodontic training at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Her professional affiliations include the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, the Mississippi Dental Association, The American and Mississippi Associations of Women Dentists. the Jackson Dental Study Club, the Jackson Dental Society, and the American College of Dentists. Dr. Webb is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics.
She was a member of the Millsaps women's basketball team for four years and received the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year Award for the 1995-96 season in which her team advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament. She was also named an honorable mention ALL- American the same year. Dr. Webb was inducted into the Millsaps Sports Hall of Fame in November 2006.
Dr. Webb excelled in her academic endeavors while attending Millsaps and in dental school where she received the American Association of Endodontists Award, the Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Award, the WaterPik Prosthodontic Award, and an AmSouth Bank Scholarship for academic achievement. She was also named to the national dental honor society of Omicron Kappa Upsilon and to the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society.
Her volunteer activities include the Dominican Dental Mission Project in the summer of 2000 where she worked with other dentists to provide operative, oral surgery, and prosthodontic services to poverty-stricken areas in the Dominican Republic. She also served as an assistant professor in clinical endodontics at the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry for over 6 years. Dr. Webb is dedicated to the advancement of education both at the collegiate level and in the field of dentistry. This dedication inspired her to donate a significant portion of her teaching income back to the University of Mississippi School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Webb's favorite philanthropy is The Blair E. Batson Children's Hospital at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where she was treated with liver cancer as a child. She feels a great appreciation for doctors and nurses at the hospital and is proud to have such a wonderful institution making such a big difference in the lives of children with cancer here in Mississippi.
